Tamale Party Benefiting Dental Needs in Platte County

Tamale Party Benefiting Dental Needs in Platte County

We had a great time at last night's tamale party.  We ran out of tamales completely, standing room only.  It was such fun to see our neighbors come out.  Tamale Parties are community events sponsored by The Cellar at Cactus Creek in Weston MO.  Usually taking place on the last Thursday of the month Tamale Parties raise money for local nonprofit projects.

Last night we raised money for Platte Valley Dental which includes Dr. Staci Blaha - her son Dr. Trent Blaha - and the beauties above who staff the office.  Platte Valley Dental matches our contribution and the monies are then used to provide dental care for folks in our community that need dental work but they don't have the financial resources.

All tamales are purchased by Cactus Creek from Los Alamos Market y Cocina in Kansas City.  They are a quaint mom + pop restaurant and shop that makes the BEST tamales ever - chicken, pork and vegetarian.  Los Alamos is very kind to donate all of the chips + salsa {the green cilantro salsa is OMG good}.  Below is Augustine - the owner of Los Alamos.  He's such a great man.  Hardest worker you'll ever meet.  I love picking up tamales and talking shop with him.  Please go by there if you are the KC area!!

When you come to a Tamale Party the price of tamales is up to you.  It's all free-will donation; we've had people pay $3 for a tamale - and $100 for a tamale. We will soon be posting the total raised tonight.

Join us for a night of drinks in The Cellar, tamales, and fun with friends and our NEXT TAMALE PARTY which will benefit the Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter!!
